on the cusp of semi- greatness
OK, so Alex Rodriguez is really talented and has made a tremendous difference with the new york Yankee's, but like a handful of great athletes he was caught cheating, he claims that it was earlier in his career when he was with the Texas Rangers, but some wonder was he with the New York Yankee's when he was doping? To some people his legacy is forever tainted, and the milestone that he is at the cusp of reaching will mean nothing. in the 90's in the MLB all the major sluggers who were braking record, mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmiero, etc were all doping and it wouldn't come out until the fateful book called Juiced by Jose Canseco, who really blew the lid off of the cheating that went on, it turns out that he is the only credible one because he was honest. The point that I'm trying to make is, that when A-ROD was younger the culture was cheating and i think that's why he doped. it is easy for people to judge and say that he had an unfair advantage, but it was still him hitting the home runs, don't get me wrong i don't condone cheating but people should give him a break. he came out and said he didn't it, and he moved on from it, but he will be forever tainted, and he might have a hard time getting into the hall of fame, but i doubt it. its funny because a-rod has become more infamous, because of all the lovely ladies that he has bagged, Madonna, Kate Hudson, and Cameron Diaz to name a few.my wish for him is that he can once again become famous for his talents on the field and not how many ladies he has been with, he is a true talent, WHO will prob reach 600 very soon.
The golden boy or is he?
let's face it, the french aren't really big fans of Americans or Lance Armstrong. for years he has dominated the tour DE France and has become a millionaire in the process. The French have always claimed that he was a cheater, that he was doping; maybe this would explain how he was so dominate , and won the tour DE France 7 times. Armstrong has retired, then decided that he wanted another chance at the tour and he is currently participating in it. he is not what he once was, and not everyone can be a Brett Farve and get better with age. it seems like when he decided to come out of retirement it wasn't really a great time, because his teammate Floyd Landis had been doping and he claimed that Armstrong also had doped in the past. it is hard to believe what Landis says, because when he was initially confronted with a positive test for performance enhancing drugs, he denied it and said there must have been some type of technicality, he even personally told Armstrong this and went to court to even fight it. so , to me it is hard to take the word of someone who lied for 4 years. Lance Armstrong has been a great sports hero, he is a cancer survivor and the jokes about him being the uniballer are extremely funny. now things have gotten even worse for Armstrong, he recently hired a top notch criminal defense attorney, who can hopefully clear his name. the case against him wont be easy to win, it sad because, if it is true that he was doping all this time , i know that people will be disappointed, i will be personally. Why do athletes cheat, whatever happened to doing it on your own. only time will tell with this case, which is sure to be high and profile with lots of witness and money spent on defense.

upcoming X-games
wow, can you believe that X- games 16 is already upon us? a year can most certainly fly by and with all the anticipation this will most defiantly be an x- games to remember. thanks to the likes of Shaun white, Travis pastrana, Dave Mira, buckey laskek, tony hawk, Danny way , Ryan Sheckler, and bob burnquist x- games has become more popular than ever. Shaun white is making his return back to summer x games; he is off an incredible performance in the 2010 winter Olympics, and now he hopes to dominate skateboarding, a sport in which he hasn't reached his potential yet. i hope that ESPN can help lots of viewers understand that beyond these famous names of action sports athletes, there are more , who ha vent reached that sort of pinnacle of fame. This year ESPN, is covering more than 30 hours of summer x- games; and breaking down what is actually going on is Sal maskela and tony hawk these two are entertaining and explain what is going on very well. it is crazy to think of what x- games used to be sort of like a freak show; a bunch of different events with people who would never make it at the current x-games. don't believe do your history of x- games you might just be surprised. well this is a blog that problay wont be ready by anyone, and its for me to get better at sports writing; i know i have a long way to go. this makes me so happy; i love writing
